Non-Traditional Art Materials that Work Brilliantly

Design III and IV

You can imagine that there are so many different mediums to choose from when creating art. As you get inspired, you try to think of how you’ll create your work of art. The possibilities are innumerable. But what if you tried something completely unheard of? Consider experimenting with a material that is not originally meant to be used in art: Plastic spoons, boxing tape, cardboard, coffee filters…

…Hopefully, these non-traditional artworks will inspire you to think beyond traditional art materials and try out some new techniques, or to help your own art students explore more accessible mediums further. Non- traditional art materials work brilliantly in design III/design IV classes.
